According to data from TechCrunch, a total of 49 AI startups secured funding rounds of $100 million or more last year. Notably, three companies managed to secure multiple “mega-rounds,” and seven startups raised rounds exceeding $1 billion.

With 2025 now underway, the trend shows no signs of slowing down. While the year is still in its early stages, nearly ten AI startups in the United States have already raised over $100 million, with at least one company securing a funding round surpassing $1 billion.

Noteworthy AI Funding Rounds in 2025

Here is a look at some of the most significant funding rounds in the AI sector so far this year.

March 2025

Anthropic – One of the leading names in AI research and large language models, Anthropic secured an impressive $3.5 billion in a Series E funding round. This round, which was announced on March 3, valued the company at a staggering $61.5 billion. Lightspeed led the round, with participation from major investors such as Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and General Catalyst.

February 2025

Together AI – Specializing in open-source generative AI and AI model development infrastructure, Together AI raised $305 million in a Series B round on February 20. This round, co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst, pushed the company’s valuation to $3.3 billion. Other participants included Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, and Lux Capital.

Lambda – A key player in AI infrastructure, Lambda raised $480 million in a Series D round on February 19. With a valuation of nearly $2.5 billion, the funding round was co-led by SGW and Andra Capital. Nvidia, G Squared, and ARK Invest also participated.

Abridge – A Pittsburgh-based AI platform focused on transcribing patient-clinician conversations, Abridge announced a $250 million Series D round on February 17. The funding valued the company at $2.75 billion, with IVP and Elad Gil leading the investment. Other participants included Lightspeed, Redpoint, and Spark Capital.

Eudia – This AI-powered legal tech company raised $105 million in a Series A round on February 13. The funding was led by General Catalyst, with additional participation from Floodgate, Defy Ventures, and Everywhere Ventures, alongside numerous angel investors.

EnCharge AI – Specializing in AI hardware, EnCharge AI raised a $100 million Series B round, also closing on February 13. Harvey – Another AI-driven legal tech startup, Harvey, raised $300 million in a Series D round announced on February 12. The round, led by Sequoia, valued the company at $3 billion. Other key investors included OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, and Elad Gil.

ElevenLabs – A leader in synthetic voice technology, ElevenLabs secured a $180 million Series C round on January 30. This round, co-led by ICONIQ Growth and Andreessen Horowitz, valued the startup at over $3 billion. Additional investors included Sequoia, NEA, and Salesforce Ventures.

Hippocratic AI – Focused on large language models for the healthcare industry, Hippocratic AI raised a $141 million Series B round on January 9. The funding, led by Kleiner Perkins, valued the company at over $1.6 billion, with Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, and General Catalyst also participating.
