Jobandtalent Secures €92M to Expand AI-Driven Hiring Amid Valuation Drop
Madrid-based workforce platform eyes global growth and tech integration despite market headwinds
Jobandtalent, the Madrid-headquartered digital staffing marketplace, has announced the successful closure of a €92 million ($103 million) Series F funding round. The round, which includes notable investors such as Atomico, BlackRock, DN Capital, Hercules, Infravia, Kibo, and Kinnevik, places the company’s current valuation at €1.3 billion ($1.5 billion).
While a new funding round might signal business strength, this particular raise marks a down round for the company — a significant adjustment from its previous $2.35 billion valuation in 2021.
A Changing Market Landscape
Jobandtalent previously raised $500 million in a Series E round in December 2021. At the time, its valuation soared to $2.35 billion, fueled by the global shift toward more flexible work arrangements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, however, shifting investor sentiment and broader economic challenges have contributed to a sharp €1 billion drop in valuation.
Responding to the change, a company spokesperson told TechCrunch:
“This round reflects a valuation adjustment in line with broader market dynamics, particularly within the tech and growth-stage sectors. The funding ensures that Job&Talent remains well-capitalized to execute the next phase of our growth journey. Despite challenging market conditions, we have consistently outperformed industry trends over the past year, driven by the strength of our platform and our ability to integrate AI across our entire suite of products.”
Adapting to New Realities
Founded as a “workforce-as-a-service” platform, Jobandtalent connects hourly workers with companies across logistics, retail, and other sectors. It currently operates in 10 countries spanning Europe, the U.S., and Latin America.
The platform has placed more than 300,000 workers into roles across more than 3,250 businesses. It saw significant growth during the pandemic, benefiting from a surge in demand across e-commerce and logistics. However, the labor market in Europe has since entered a more turbulent phase, with talent shortages, inflationary pressures, and slowing corporate earnings complicating the economic picture.
Betting on Artificial Intelligence
To adapt to this uncertain environment, Jobandtalent is doubling down on artificial intelligence to streamline hiring and enhance efficiency. The new capital will fund international expansion and accelerate the integration of AI-powered tools across the platform.
The company has already introduced its first AI recruitment agent, Clara. In early trials, Clara has conducted 180,000 interviews, leading to approximately 7,000 successful hires. Jobandtalent says these results match the performance of “thousands of recruiters,” even during periods of peak demand.
Looking ahead, the company plans to roll out additional AI agents in 2025, targeting other roles traditionally performed by human recruiters.
Looking to the Future
Despite the lower valuation, Jobandtalent remains optimistic about its trajectory. Co-founder and co-CEO Juan Urdiales emphasized the company’s long-term vision in a recent statement:
“This capital injection reaffirms our shared vision for the future of Job&Talent. Thanks to the platform we have built over the past years, we are now well-positioned to evolve into a fully integrated employment platform that helps companies manage their temporary and internal workforces more efficiently. Our next-generation AI agents will bring major improvements in productivity, provide better opportunities for workers, and unlock crucial cost savings for companies.”
Final Thoughts
Jobandtalent’s pivot toward AI and continued focus on global scalability reflects a broader trend among tech startups adapting to a post-pandemic economic reality. While the funding round may signal caution among investors, it also underlines confidence in the platform’s long-term potential.
As the European labor market continues to evolve and artificial intelligence reshapes workforce dynamics, Jobandtalent aims to remain at the forefront — balancing the human touch with technological innovation.
