Made on YouTube 2025: AI Tools, Live Updates, and New Ways for Creators to Earn
At its annual Made on YouTube showcase this week, YouTube introduced a wave of updates designed to help creators produce, promote, and monetize their content. From generative AI tools to expanded livestreaming features, the platform continues to position itself as a hub for innovation.
Major Enhancements to YouTube Studio
YouTube Studio — the core dashboard for creators — is receiving several significant upgrades. The refreshed Inspiration Tab will help with creative brainstorming, while new title A/B testing options let creators compare different headlines to see what resonates best.
The company also highlighted a feature that drew particular attention: “likeness” detection. Originally piloted last year, it’s now entering open beta. This tool allows users to identify, manage, and request the removal of unauthorized videos that misuse their facial likeness.
In addition, Studio will soon benefit from AI-powered Ask Studio, a virtual guide to help creators navigate their accounts. Another update will enable collaborations with up to five creators on a single video, with content reaching the combined audiences of all collaborators.
Expanding Possibilities with YouTube Live
YouTube Live, the platform’s livestreaming service, is also getting smarter and more interactive. Creators will now be able to:
-
Play minigames during live broadcasts
-
Stream in both vertical and horizontal formats simultaneously
-
Generate AI-powered highlights, which automatically clip the best livestream moments into Shorts
-
Experiment with a new ad format called “side-by-side,” where ads display next to the main content instead of interrupting the stream
These additions are aimed at making live content more engaging for audiences while opening up additional monetization opportunities.
AI Tools Powering Shorts
Short-form video remains a priority for YouTube, and the company is leveraging AI to boost creativity. A custom version of Veo 3, Google’s text-to-video generative AI model, will be integrated into Shorts.
With Veo 3 Fast, creators can:
-
Apply motion from existing videos to static images
-
Add stylistic elements to enhance visual appeal
-
Insert objects into clips using text prompts
AI-powered music innovation is also arriving, as eligible dialogue can be transformed into catchy soundtracks through Google’s Lyria 2 model. New remixing tools and an “Edit with AI” option further broaden editing possibilities.
Strengthening YouTube Music
YouTube Music updates are designed to help artists and fans connect more directly. Among the new features are:
-
A countdown timer for upcoming releases
-
The ability for creators to share personalized “thank you” videos with their audiences
-
A U.S.-only pilot program that enables listeners to access exclusive merchandise drops directly from artists
AI Support for Podcasters
Podcasters are also on YouTube’s roadmap. Video podcast creators in the U.S. will soon receive AI-generated clip suggestions to make content repurposing easier. Looking ahead, the company revealed plans for a tool that will allow audio podcasts to be automatically converted into video podcasts starting next year.
Fresh Monetization Options
YouTube continues to expand revenue streams for creators. Updates include:
-
Brand deals integrated into the Creator Partnerships Hub, where YouTube will actively suggest creators who may be a good match for brands
-
YouTube Shopping, where creators can earn by tagging and featuring products in videos
-
Automatic timestamps for product tags, ensuring items appear at the moment they’re mentioned
-
Auto-tagging for eligible products
-
Brand link features for Shorts, allowing direct site links for collaborations
Creators will also have the flexibility to swap out brand sponsorships in long-form videos, providing more control over how partnerships appear in their content.
A Bigger Picture
The announcements from Made on YouTube reinforce the company’s push to combine AI-driven innovation with more robust ways for creators to engage audiences and generate income. From AI-powered highlights to new revenue tools, YouTube is clearly betting on artificial intelligence to power its next phase of growth.
