Peec AI Secures $21M as Brands Race to Adapt to the ChatGPT-Driven Search Shift
As more consumers turn to ChatGPT instead of Google to answer everyday questions, the landscape of product discovery is undergoing a rapid transformation. Riding this wave of change is Peec AI, which has quickly emerged as one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups by promising brands greater visibility and control over this new AI-driven search ecosystem.
Major Funding Boost Following Rapid Seed Momentum
Barely four months after closing its Seed round led by 20VC, the Berlin-based tech startup has raised a substantial $21 million Series A, with European venture firm Singular taking the lead.
While CEO Marius Meiners declined to share the exact valuation, he confirmed that it has “tripled and was now above $100 million.”
Fast Growth: ARR Surges as 1,300 Customers Join Platform
Peec AI’s traction has been remarkable. In just its first ten months, the company’s annual recurring revenue surpassed $4 million, supported by 1,300 companies and agencies now relying on its platform.
These organisations use Peec AI to monitor:
-
How their brands appear in AI-generated search results
-
Visibility and ranking performance
-
Sentiment behind answers
-
Sources influencing AI responses
This intelligence is what powers Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), a new approach designed to help marketing teams influence their presence in AI search responses—mirroring how SEO works for traditional search engines.
Peec AI says it is now adding around 300 new customers every month, and the latest funding round is expected to accelerate this momentum.
Hiring Surge and Global Expansion Plans
With new backing from Antler, Combination VC, identity.vc, and S20, Peec AI plans to hire around 40 new employees within six months, mostly in Berlin.
Meiners met cofounders Tobias Siwonia (CTO) and Daniel Drabo (CRO) during Antler’s Winter 2024 cohort.
To capture market share in this emerging GEO category—where competitors like Profound (New York) and OtterlyAI (Austria) are also gaining ground—Peec AI is focusing on visibility. The company is currently advertising across major outdoor placements throughout Berlin.
Looking beyond Germany, Meiners also told TechCrunch that Peec AI plans to open a sales-focused New York office in Q2 next year.
A Simpler Dashboard for a Complex AI Search Environment
Peec AI aims to stand apart by offering a dashboard that remains intuitive despite the complexity of AI search behaviour. Unlike conventional SEO platforms that revolve around keywords, Peec AI focuses on prompts.
Pricing includes:
-
€75/month ($87) → Track up to 25 prompts
-
€169/month ($196) → Track up to 100 prompts
-
Enterprise → Starts at €424/month ($493)
-
Free trials available for standard plans
To help teams act on insights, the platform recommends tactical steps. For instance, a company wanting to rank for “the best CRMs for fast-growing companies” may be advised to “join r/CRM subreddit discussions” on Reddit.
What Peec AI Has Learned From Source-Level Data
A key insight: coverage in top-tier media doesn’t guarantee higher visibility in AI responses. Lesser-known publications sometimes perform better if their headlines align more closely with user queries—for example, “the best healthcare investors in Berlin.”
Companies already using Peec AI’s tools include:
Axel Springer, Chanel, n8n, ElevenLabs, TUI, and others across sectors, from B2C to B2B.
Behind the Scenes: A Data Engine Driving GEO
To deliver reliable insights, Peec AI purchases raw datasets of user requests made to AI tools. Meiners explains:
“We have to filter all these out to really get the questions that people ask around brands or purchases and products and services.”
Despite the platform’s simplicity for users, this proprietary data pipeline may be the company’s biggest competitive advantage—highlighting that success in AI isn’t only about models, but also the application layer and underlying data.
With the rise of GEO and expanding business adoption of AI search, Peec AI is positioning itself as one of Europe’s most compelling tech plays.
