Apple Unveils $12.99-Per-Month ‘Creator Studio’ App Bundle

Apple Introduces ‘Creator Studio’ Subscription to Bundle Pro Creative Tools

Apple has announced the launch of Apple Creator Studio, a new subscription package designed to bring its professional creative software and premium productivity content together under a single plan. The company confirmed the move on Tuesday, positioning the bundle as a streamlined option for creators working across video, music, design, and productivity.

Pricing and Availability

The Apple Creator Studio subscription is priced at $12.99 per month or $129 per year. Discounted access is also available for education users, with college students and educators able to subscribe for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year.

The service will officially launch on January 28, and Apple noted that all new subscribers will receive a one-month free trial.

Apps Included in the Creator Studio Bundle

Subscribers gain access to a comprehensive suite of Apple’s creative software across Mac and iPad:

  • Final Cut Pro (Mac and iPad)

  • Logic Pro (Mac and iPad)

  • Pixelmator Pro (Mac and iPad)

  • Motion (Mac)

  • Compressor (Mac)

  • MainStage (Mac)

In addition, the subscription unlocks premium content in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, with Apple confirming that Freeform will be added later for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

New Features Rolling Out Across Creative Apps

Alongside the subscription announcement, Apple revealed a range of new features arriving across its creative software lineup.

Final Cut Pro on Mac and iPad is gaining:

  • Transcript Search, allowing editors to locate soundbites using text

  • Visual Search, enabling users to find specific moments by describing them

  • Beat Detection for music-based edits

On Final Cut Pro for iPad, Apple is also introducing Montage Maker to quickly start edits and Auto Crop to automatically reframe content.

Logic Pro users will see enhancements including:

  • Synth Player

  • Chord ID

  • A new sound library

  • Natural language search, among other improvements

Expanding Creative Capabilities on Mac and iPad

The bundle includes MainStage, which allows Macs to function as an instrument, vocal processor, or guitar rig for live performance.

Apple is also expanding the reach of Pixelmator Pro—a company it acquired in 2024—by bringing the app to the iPad for the first time. The iPad version features full Apple Pencil support and fast image-editing capabilities, broadening access to its professional-grade tools.

Subscribers also receive Motion, Apple’s motion graphics software for creating 2D and 3D effects, and Compressor, which works alongside Final Cut Pro and Motion to fine-tune output settings for content distribution.

Apple’s Vision for Creator Studio

Commenting on the launch, Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, said:

“Apple Creator Studio is a great value that enables creators of all types to pursue their craft and grow their skills by providing easy access to the most powerful and intuitive tools for video editing, music making, creative imaging, and visual productivity — all leveled up with advanced intelligent tools to augment and accelerate workflows.”

New Premium Content and AI-Driven Productivity Tools

Within Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, the Creator Studio subscription unlocks a new “Content Hub”, giving users access to high-quality photos, graphics, and illustrations, along with new premium templates and themes.

Subscribers also gain access to beta features in Keynote, including tools that:

  • Generate presentation drafts from text outlines

  • Create presenter notes from existing slides

  • Automatically clean up layouts and object placement

In Numbers, users can generate formulas and automatically fill tables using Magic Fill and pattern recognition.

One-Time Purchases Remain Available

Apple emphasized that its shift toward subscriptions does not eliminate traditional purchase options. Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage will continue to be offered as one-time purchases on the Mac App Store, while free versions of Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and Freeform will remain available to all users.
