Dubai Strengthens Its Position as a Global Digital Hub
Dubai is set to welcome Canva’s regional headquarters, marking another milestone in the emirate’s ambition to position itself as a leading centre for digital innovation and creative technology. The move further reinforces Dubai’s growing appeal to global tech platforms seeking a strategic base in the Middle East.
The development follows a new partnership between Canva and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, designed to accelerate digital adoption and creative capability across the business ecosystem.
Partnership Aimed at Supporting Over 250,000 Digital Players
According to the agreement, the collaboration will support more than 250,000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and individuals operating in the digital sector over the next five years. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering businesses with accessible digital tools while strengthening Dubai’s entrepreneurial environment.
The agreement was formally signed during the World Governments Summit in Dubai, aligning closely with the UAE’s national strategies for digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
Expanding Canva’s Regional Presence
Under the terms of the partnership, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy will facilitate the establishment and expansion of Canva’s regional operations from Dubai. In return, Canva will provide newly established SMEs in Dubai and across the UAE with access to advanced digital design and productivity tools.
This support is expected to help businesses enhance their digital presence, simplify content creation workflows, and innovate more efficiently—without requiring specialist design expertise.
Canva’s Global Reach and UAE Impact
Canva currently serves users in more than 190 countries and is valued at approximately $42 billion, underlining its position as one of the world’s most influential digital design platforms.
Its footprint in the UAE is already significant. More than 54 million designs were created on Canva in the UAE last year, and one in eight internet users in the country is already using the platform—a clear indicator of strong local adoption.
Reinforcing Dubai’s Digital Economy Vision
The latest agreement highlights Dubai’s ongoing efforts to build a fully integrated digital ecosystem, while strengthening its reputation as a destination of choice for leading global technology companies.
By attracting Canva’s regional headquarters, Dubai continues to signal its readiness to support innovation-driven businesses and accelerate the growth of its digital economy.
