Eddy Nassar: Crafting Connections and Creative Communities in the Mediterranean
Some leaders follow existing trails — others carve new ones. Eddy Nassar belongs to the latter. Born in Beirut and raised in Cyprus, his journey is a seamless blend of technology, music, hospitality, and vision. From DJ decks to managing top venues and launching international influencer platforms, Nassar has built a legacy founded on one idea: genuine connection drives everything.
A Journey from Beirut to Limassol: Turning Passion into Purpose
Eddy’s story began with a dream and a dual focus. While pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems at the State University of New York, he paid his way by working as a DJ — foreshadowing a career that would merge creativity with commerce.
His professional career took off in 2001, when he joined Columbia Shipmanagement as an IT Engineer, followed by an adventurous period as IT Officer aboard the Thomson Celebration cruise ship.
Returning to Cyprus marked a turning point. By 2008, Nassar was leading entertainment at Columbia Plaza’s 7 Seas, introducing world-class jazz acts and redefining Limassol nightlife. Promoted to Manager in 2011, he further revolutionized the island’s entertainment scene. Later, as General Manager of Columbia Beach, he transformed the venue into an award-winning hub of luxury hospitality.
By 2021, his leadership as Managing Director of Columbia Restaurants saw the launch of Columbia Pier and Columbia Sun — destinations that reimagined Cyprus’ coastal hospitality experience.
Eddy often references the iconic “Field of Dreams” line, but with a twist:
“If you build it, they will come.”
“If you market it, they will come.”
This evolution captures his belief in blending authenticity with strategic communication — a mindset that has defined his entrepreneurial path.
Expanding Horizons: From Hospitality to Digital Influence
Eddy’s next chapter extended beyond brick-and-mortar experiences into the digital realm. His ability to foresee cultural shifts led him to the world of creators and influencers.
As President & CEO of WIBA Mediterranean, he spearheaded the World Influencer and Blogger Awards (WIBA) 2025 at Limassol’s Four Seasons Hotel — a milestone that showcased Cyprus as a rising hub for digital creativity.
The event drew creators from across Europe and the Middle East, placing Cyprus on the global stage for influencer marketing and cultural exchange.
MICA: A Movement for Mediterranean Creators
Nassar’s vision didn’t stop at recognition. Alongside entrepreneur Patrick Karam, he co-founded MICA — the Mediterranean Influencers & Creators Association.
The association was born from a simple but powerful observation: creators across the Mediterranean were innovating in isolation. MICA set out to change that — to unite and empower them.
Its mission centers on three pillars:
-
Empowerment – Providing training, workshops, and access to professional tools.
-
Collaboration – Connecting creators with brands and each other.
-
Cultural Exchange – Elevating Mediterranean voices on a global scale.
Monthly meetups, held in venues such as Columbia Beach and creative spaces around Limassol, bring these principles to life. Whether a creator has 1,000 followers or one million, MICA champions inclusivity and authenticity over vanity metrics.
Looking Toward the Future
For Eddy, MICA is more than an organization — it’s a digital cultural movement.
“Cyprus has always been at the crossroads of civilizations. MICA channels that heritage into digital storytelling, showing the Mediterranean as vibrant, dynamic, and ready to lead.”
Through his work, Eddy Nassar continues to position Cyprus as a creative hub for global collaboration. What began as a personal passion for music and technology has evolved into a far-reaching ecosystem of influence, innovation, and connection.
At its heart, Nassar’s story is proof that when you build with intention and authenticity, people don’t just arrive — they connect, create, and stay.
