AI Video Startup Higgsfield Reaches $1.3 Billion Valuation Following $80M Series A Extension
Higgsfield, the AI video generation startup founded by former Snap executive Alex Mashrabov, has extended its Series A funding, raising an additional $80 million, bringing the total Series A to $130 million. The company now says it has achieved a $1.3 billion valuation.
A Platform for AI-Powered Video Creation
Higgsfield provides a tool that allows consumers, creators, and social media teams to create and edit AI-generated videos. Alex Mashrabov, who previously led Generative AI at Snap, founded Higgsfield after his earlier startup, AI Factory, was acquired by Snap in 2020 for $166 million, where he had served as a co-founder.
Since launching its tool, Higgsfield has experienced rapid adoption. Five months post-launch, the platform reported 11 million users. Nine months in, the user base has grown to over 15 million, with a $200 million annual revenue run rate, doubling from a $100 million trajectory in just about two months, according to the company.
Growth That Outpaces Industry Peers
Higgsfield claims its growth places it ahead of competitors such as Lovable, Cursor, OpenAI, Slack, and Zoom, citing its press release. The startup is now positioning itself as a business-oriented tool, emphasizing that professional social media marketers are the primary users. In the company’s words, this is “a major sign that the platform adoption has evolved beyond casual content creation.”
Balancing Creativity and Controversy
While the platform is increasingly used by professional marketers, it still enables creative, and sometimes controversial, content. Recently, Higgsfield was used to generate a video titled “Island Holiday”, which depicted individuals mentioned in the Epstein files alongside fictional characters on a “vacation” on Epstein’s island. Due to its sensitive content, the viral post will not be linked here.
At the same time, users continue to produce videos focused on fashion and Hollywood-style storytelling, highlighting the platform’s versatility for a wide range of content creation.
Investors Backing the Extension
Investors participating in the Series A extension include Accel, AI Capital Partners, Menlo Ventures, and GFT Ventures, demonstrating continued confidence in Higgsfield’s growth trajectory and market potential.
