Narwal introduces next-generation AI cleaning at CES

Robot vacuum manufacturer Narwal used the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to present a new lineup of intelligent vacuum cleaners designed to go beyond basic floor cleaning. The latest models incorporate artificial intelligence to monitor pets, identify misplaced items, and alert users when toys or valuables are left behind.

At the centre of the announcement is Narwal’s new flagship robot vacuum, the Flow 2, which combines AI-powered vision, enhanced cleaning performance, and a redesigned body aimed at improving usability.

Flow 2 design focuses on usability and precision

According to the company, the Flow 2 features a rounded exterior and easy-lift water tanks to simplify maintenance and improve cleaning efficiency. The robot vacuum is equipped with two 1080p RGB cameras offering a 136-degree field of view, allowing it to map rooms accurately and recognise objects using AI-driven models.

Narwal explained that the system can identify an unlimited number of objects. The vacuum first attempts to recognise items locally on the device; if no match is found, the visual data is securely sent to the cloud for further processing and classification.

AI-powered modes for pets, babies and valuables

The Flow 2 introduces three dedicated AI modes designed for modern households:

• Pet care mode allows users to define zones where pets typically rest or spend time, ensuring targeted cleaning. The vacuum can also monitor pets and supports two-way audio, enabling owners to check in remotely.

• Baby care mode automatically switches the device to a quieter cleaning profile near a crib and sends alerts if toys are left out of place.

• AI floor tag mode enables the vacuum to recognise valuable items such as jewellery, avoid them during cleaning, and notify users of their location.

These features position the Flow 2 as both a cleaning device and a smart home monitoring tool.

Advanced cleaning performance and hot water mopping

Narwal stated that the Flow 2 includes four cleaning modes capable of identifying different types of dirt. If an area remains dirty, the vacuum can return to its base, wash the mop, and re-clean the specific section.

The company also highlighted that the Flow 2’s redesigned base supports higher hot water washing temperatures, improving hygiene and overall cleaning effectiveness.

Handheld and cordless models expand the lineup

In addition to the Flow 2, Narwal showcased a new U50 handheld vacuum, weighing 1.41kg (3.1 lbs). The U50 features UV-C sterilisation combined with heat treatment, targeting allergens and bacteria.

The company also demonstrated an unnamed cordless vacuum cleaner with a slim profile, 360-degree swivel, and up to 50 minutes of run time. This model includes an auto-empty station capable of handling up to 60 days of dust disposal, reducing the need for frequent maintenance.
